ScriptureWear® Inc., handcrafts
Christian jewelry. We are located in Raleigh NC. My husband,
Butch, and I have three children and four grandchildren.
I’m a stay-at-home mom and have always done something
at home to earn extra money. In 1997 I started Christian
Cottage Industries, which became ScriptureWear Inc. in 2002.
Tunes For Tots personalized children’s music CD’s
were added to our company product line in 2004.
Our church has a great relationship with a nearby seminary and I knew there
were lots of other moms there who would also like to work from home. So, to
keep up with the demand for ScriptureWear Christian jewelry pieces we hired
seminary students’ wives that were all stay-at-home moms, too. Each design
is based on specific scripture and the crafters assemble each pin or pendant
at home. We started on my dining room table with seven moms and a lot of prayer.
We put up our website, mailed brochures across the country and orders started
coming in!
ScriptureWear is a family operated company. My husband and I work in the office,
taking and filling orders. Together we have done Arts & Crafts shows, Christmas
shows and Christian Women’s events. Our son Daniel, daughter Emily, and
daughter-in-law Ellen have all helped us and so have some of the crafters’ children.
Even our dogs Beamer and Maddie have the job of keeping us company in the office.
Christian Missionaries have taken ScriptureWear jewelry
pieces to China, Kenya Africa, Russia, Argentina, South Africa,
Portugal, Germany, Brazil, the Czech Republic and Bogotá,
Columbia. We have heard wonderful stories of how ScriptureWear
pieces have touched lives here and around the world. When
we began crafting ScriptureWear at my dining room table so
many years ago, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that
the Lord would use us to carry His Word around the world.
I am very thankful to the Lord for the blessings He has given
us through ScriptureWear and I sincerely hope that if you
decide to purchase a ScriptureWear Christian jewelry piece,
it will bless you, too!
In Him,
Shelley Graves
